Quantify the impact of value added services

The reports produced by InteracT Value Added Services monitor a variety of service indicators and business trends. These have proved a valuable measure for both customers and Fisher Scientific. By sharing information with our customers we can objectively assess our performance against agreed standards, target areas for improvement and make sure business relationships stay on track.

Our mainframe AS400 order processing system records all transactions, both current and historical, between Fisher Scientific and its customers. Using a software package known as Data Warehouse we can pool all of the information into a single reporting package, giving greater speed and versatility to report compilation.

The InteracT team invests a great deal in developing partnerships with customers, analysing needs and implementing changes. Close observation of trends helps business relationships advance as planned. Regular reporting gives customers the opportunity to gauge the success of our initiatives and provides a reliable method of quantifying the impact of value added services by incorporating our data into their own cost analysis.

The business trends we monitor include:

Delivery performance
E-commerce take-up, web ordering and purchasing card use
Expenditure and usage at any reporting level, from individual ship-to points to whole groups of accounts.
Savings generated on discounts and special prices
Ordering analysis, including average order value and line value
Purchase history, year-on-year comparison
