MIT researchers develop improved microfluid device

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have developed a new microfluid device capable of detecting diseases with greater ease.

Mathematical heartbeat model developed

For the first time, scientists have produced a mathematical model of the activity in the heart which controls its beating.

Study claims iPads can be used for secondary diagnosis

Doctor using computer and tablet technology Tablet computers, such as the iPad, are expected to take on a greater significance in medical environments in the future, as display standards improve.

World’s first lab grown hamburger in production

The world's first lab grown hamburger is set to be produced later this year by scientists from Maastricht University.

Multi-ethnic study identifies gene variants linked with Type 2 diabetes
