Jubilee fun at charity race night

More Jubilee fun ensued recently, as Fisher Scientific colleague Mike Nelson hosted a charity race night.

Quite apt for the Diamond Jubilee as we hear HRH loves her race horses! The event was held to raise funds for an Olympic themed Sports Day which will be held in July at Walter Evans CE Primary School in Derby and was the latest in a string of fundraisers arranged by the school’s PTFA.

Fisher Scientific was one of a number of local companies and individuals who sponsored races within the event, along with a free keg of beer courtesy of a generous local brewery and a free curry to spice up the proceedings.

A total of £770.00 was raised by the race night which will be put towards new equipment for the school’s grand sporting occasion.
The fundraising doesn’t stop there; future projects will include the installation of a spiritual garden for the children to enjoy and a special Yearbook to capture happy memories.

We’re sure the children will be delighted and Queen Elizabeth II will be suitably impressed. Three cheers for Mike and everyone who contributed, Hip-Hip…
